I know this holiday is being celebrated in the United States today, but I wish everyone from all around the world a Happy Thanksgiving Day!
To me, Thanksgiving Day is more than just stuffing your face with a whole bunch of festive Thanksgiving food, it’s actually taking the time to give thanks to everything and everyone you are thankful for with deep appreciation, even though this should be celebrated every day. However, it’s a well celebrated holiday here in the states, so let’s go with that.
So, what am I thankful for with deep appreciation?
The basics: Good food, clean water, good air quality, good health, and consciousness. I am also thankful for all the American troops who allow me to enjoy independence and freedom in my home country. Also, the people/organizations who help and support active military and veterans in need because they do experience a lot of crazy shit, both mentally and physically.
There are so many other things I am thankful for, with deep appreciation, but it would cause this post to be way too long. All I can say is that I’m so stoked to have been granted my ability to feel deep appreciation again. Hallelujah!
For most of this year, and the last quarter of 2017, it was really hard to appreciate anything as I went through many phases of the dark night of the soul/existential crisis. But these phases are required in order to keep consciously evolving, and because of that, I welcome them with stoic arms. And I have to say that even though this year was by far the most challenging year of my life, I am very VERY thankful for it because it has forced me to experience and evaluate both my weaknesses and strengths in depth. No other year has EVER done that to me.
On another note, tonight is the full moon and it just so happens an hour before my birthday. Not sure what I plan to do, but I will be alone again like last year but it’s ok, I enjoy it! I did get a hotel room tonight near Bell Rock, my favorite area in Sedona. I did this just so I can walk to the nearest pub, have a drink for Thanksgiving Day, the full moon and my birthday at midnight and also to cheers myself to a whole new trip around the sun! Woot, woot!
And so, with all that said, I wish you all (again) a Happy Thanksgiving Day! Cheers!
